By using the Service, you agree to the use of cookies as described in this Policy. Where required by applicable law (such as in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California), we will request your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device when you visit them. They are widely used to make websites work, improve performance, remember your preferences, and provide analytics.
This Policy also applies to similar tracking technologies we may use, including web beacons (also called pixels), local storage, session storage, software development kits (SDKs), and device identifiers. We refer to all of these collectively as "cookies" in this Policy.
Cookies may be "first-party" (set by Guiden) or "third-party" (set by service providers we use). Cookies may also be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (remain on your device until they expire or you delete them).
2. Cookies We Use
Guiden currently uses only essential cookies needed to operate the Service. We do not currently use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. If we add such cookies in the future, we will update this Policy and, where required, request your consent before setting them.
- Authentication (Strictly Necessary, Guiden): Keeps you signed in, maintains your session, protects against unauthorized access to your account.
- Security (Strictly Necessary, Guiden): Detects fraudulent activity, prevents abuse, protects integrity of the Service (including CSRF and bot protection).
- Preferences (Functional, Guiden): Remembers your settings, language, and interface preferences.
- Payment (Strictly Necessary, Stripe): Processes payments securely, prevents payment fraud (set when you make a purchase).
Strictly necessary cookies cannot be turned off in our systems because the Service will not function properly without them. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information beyond what is necessary for the function described.
3. Categories of Cookies
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for you to use the Service and its features, such as logging in, maintaining your session, processing payments, and protecting against fraud and unauthorized access. Because the Service cannot function properly without these cookies, they do not require consent under most laws.
3.2 Functional Cookies
These cookies allow the Service to remember choices you make (such as your language or interface preferences) and provide enhanced features. They are not strictly necessary, but they significantly improve your experience.
3.3 Analytics Cookies
Guiden does not currently set analytics cookies. If we add product or web analytics in the future, we will update this Policy to describe what is collected, who sets it, and how to opt out.
3.4 Advertising and Targeting Cookies
Guiden does not currently set advertising, targeting, or retargeting cookies, and we do not currently "sell" or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California or similar state privacy laws. If we add advertising cookies in the future, we will update this Policy and provide opt-out controls as required by law.
4. Managing and Disabling Cookies
4.1 Browser Controls
Most web browsers allow you to view, manage, delete, and block cookies through your browser settings. Look in the "Settings," "Preferences," or "Privacy" section of your browser. You can typically choose to block third-party cookies, block all cookies, or be notified before a cookie is set.
- Google Chrome: support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
- Apple Safari: support.apple.com/guide/safari
- Mozilla Firefox: support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cookies
- Microsoft Edge: support.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge
Please note: if you block or delete strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Service (including login and payment) may not function properly.
4.2 Device Controls
Mobile devices typically allow you to control advertising identifiers and tracking through your device settings (for example, "Limit Ad Tracking" on iOS or "Opt out of Ads Personalization" on Android).
4.3 Global Privacy Control (GPC)
Guiden honors the Global Privacy Control browser signal as a valid opt-out request for any future advertising or sharing activities, for the device and browser from which it is sent. To enable GPC, see globalprivacycontrol.org.
4.4 Cookie Consent Banner
Where required by applicable law (such as for users in the EEA, UK, or other jurisdictions requiring opt-in consent), we present a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept, reject, or customize non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time by accessing the cookie settings link in our website footer (where available).
5. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is currently no industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, and Guiden does not currently respond to DNT browser signals. We do honor the Global Privacy Control signal as described in Section 4.3.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, including when we add, remove, or change cookies and similar technologies. We will post the updated version with a new "Last Revised" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
